Augustiner Beer from Wooden Barrels

Unlike many other Oktoberfest beer tents, Augustiner Festhalle uses wooden barrels, specifically 200-liter “Hirsche,” to serve beer. This traditional method is believed to enhance the beer’s taste, offering a milder and more enhanced flavor profile, attributed to lower carbon dioxide levels compared to steel containers. The beer’s characteristics, such as its alcohol content and specific flavor notes make it a sought-after beer at the Oktoberfest.
