Cafe Theres Coffee Tent at Oktoberfest

The oldest Oktoberfest tent where you can enjoy freshly baked cakes instead of beer while enjoying a peaceful Bavarian atmosphere.

Café Theres stands as a monument to tradition and calmness amidst the vibrant energy of the Munich Oktoberfest. Established in 1950, this small Oktoberfest tent is the oldest coffee tent at the festival. Café Theres was renamed in 2022 in honor of Queen Therese of Bavaria and has undergone significant transformations, including a full redesign for Oktoberfest 2023.

Its dedication to serving freshly baked cakes and pastries instead of beer sets it apart, offering a tranquil Bavarian atmosphere. Owned and operated by Katharina Wiemes and Josef Sperl, this calm Oktoberfest tent continues to embody the spirit of genuine craftsmanship with its new interior design featuring beautiful murals and hand-made wooden furniture, reminiscent of Munich’s English Garden.
