Admission ranges from free at brewery events to $10 at the Saengerbund, and most events require no advance tickets except the beer dinners.

Major Delaware Oktoberfest Celebrations for Beer and Seasonal Fun

Delaware’s major celebrations are headlined by the massive Delaware Saengerbund Oktoberfest in Newark, known for its traditional opening parade and authentic German heritage. Other popular events include the Constitution Yards Oktoberfest on the Wilmington Riverfront and local brewery bashes hosted by Dogfish Head in Rehoboth Beach.

Oktoberfest at Rail Haus

  • Location: 92 North West Street, Dover, DE
  • Dates:
  • Hours: Saturday from noon to Sunday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Admission: Free

Oktoberfest Rail Haus  is Dover’s most complete take on the celebration, and the two-day format gives it more range than a single-day brewery event. Saturday brings live polka from bands like Polkadelphia, a DJ set, stein-holding and pretzel-eating contests, giant pretzels, and bratwurst. Sunday flips to a street-vendor market with local makers running alongside more live music and German food, making it a different experience each day rather than a repeat of the same program. The space is dog and family-friendly with both indoor and outdoor seating, and free admission on both days keeps the barrier to entry at zero.

Makers Goes Munich at Makers Alley

  • Location: 804 North Orange Street, Wilmington, DE
  • Dates: September 27
  • Hours: 12:00 PM through late evening

Makers Goes Munich at Makers Alley turns this downtown Wilmington beer garden into a Bavarian party for one day each fall. The garden runs 24 taps, German food specials, and live music through the evening, and the three hours of free parking at the Midtown Park Garage removes the main friction point of going out in downtown Wilmington. Makers Goes Munich is a single-day event with no rain date, so checking the forecast before going is worth doing.

Oktoberfest at Ocean View Brewing

  • Location: Ocean View Brewing, Ocean View, DE
  • Dates: September 25-28
  • Signature event: Thursday Oktoberfest beer dinner (ticketed)  ·  Weekend festivities during regular hours

Oktoberfest at Ocean View Brewing pairs Bavarian cooking with coastal Delaware ingredients across a long weekend, and the Thursday beer dinner is again the ticketed highlight that books earliest. The weekend food menu runs a Wurst Platter, Jagerschnitzel, and a Brotzeit Board built around housemade sausages and local figs, which reflects the brewery’s focus on using regional sourcing within a traditional format. The Oceanfest Lager seasonal release drops during the event weekend.

Bear Cult Brewing Oktoberfest

  • Dates: September 20 (Seaford), October 4 (Milton)
  • Hours: Afternoon through evening at both locations
  • Admission: Free

Bear Cult Brewing Oktoberfest runs on two separate weekends at two Southern Delaware locations, which effectively doubles your chance to attend if one date conflicts with something else. The Seaford event goes first with The TKO Band on polka, followed by the Milton celebration the following weekend with The Polka Terps. Both events are free to attend and feature German-style beers, games, and food throughout the afternoon and evening. For visitors staying in the Lewes or Rehoboth area, the Milton location on the Lewes Georgetown Highway is the more convenient of the two stops.
